HANDEL’S MESSISH BY CANTABILE - A REINTERPRETATION OF CLASSICS
The new professional ensemble Cantabile will hold its inaugural concert on Thursday 15th December 2016 at 7:30 PM, The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts - The Hong Kong Jockey Club Amphitheatre, performing Messiah by George Frideric Handel. Cantabile will be accompanied by Cantabile Baroque period ensemble. For this performance, we will be importing Baroque instruments that are not available locally to enhance the full Baroque experience for the concert.
Under the direction of our Artistic and Music Director Philip Chu, this performance will showcase mostly Hong Kong local talents, together with a few Baroque specialists coming from overseas to join us in the orchestra. This performance of Messiah will no doubt create a fresh concert experience to regular concert goers who have heard this piece many times in the past.
