BEETHOVEN'S SYMPHONY NO.5
EXPLORE THE LIMITLESS BOUNDARIES OF THE HUMAN VOICE
The professional ensemble Cantabile is going to present a journey of a cappella on Tuesday 7th March 2017 at 8:00 PM, Hong Kong City Hall – Concert Hall, performing Beethoven’s Symphony No.5 (a cappella version) and Historic Tour of a cappella. This concert will allow the audience to listen to this classic work in a way that they have never experienced before!
Apart from Beethoven, we will also explore the different genres of a cappella ranging from Gregorian chants to folk songs from various countries, and even some ABBA! The audience will be able to listen how the singing style and tone colour changes between genres.
In this concert, Cantabile will take the audience on a journey in an interesting and easy to understand attitude, even if you have no musical knowledge or background. The exploration of human voice and its possibilities are the essence of the concert, and why we feel an instant connection when we hear a person sings. The concert will be a new interpretation of Beethoven’s Symphony No.5 performed with human voices only. Have you ever experienced a Beethoven symphony without instruments?
